G20: Xi accuses Trudeau of leaks to media about China-Canada relations, China's Xi Jinping has been filmed accusing Justin Trudeau of leaking meeting details, days after they held talks at the G20 summit in Bali. President Xi told the Canadian PM, via a translator, this was inappropriate and accused him of lacking "sincerity". He was likely referring to reports that Mr Trudeau discussed alleged Chinese espionage and interference in Canadian elections at the sit down. The talks, which happened behind closed doors, were the pair's first in years. In the footage, filmed by journalists at the now finished gathering of world leaders, President Xi and Mr Trudeau can be seen standing close to each other and conversing via a translator. ADVERTISEMENT "Everything we discussed has been leaked to the papers and that is not appropriate," the Chinese leader told Mr Trudeau in Mandarin. It captures a rare candid moment of President Xi, whose image is normally carefully c...

CNI News Premium Ukraine war: Gas plant hit in latest Russian strikes

More strikes have been reported across Ukraine, days after one of Russia's most intense bombardments of the war. Officials say a gas production facility and a missile factory in Dnipro were among the latest targets and that at least four people died in one area. In recent weeks, Russia has looked to target key Ukrainian energy infrastructure, following a series of battlefield setbacks. Moscow has not yet commented on Thursday's alleged attacks. Four people died as a result of an overnight strike on residential buildings in the Zaporizhzhia region, according to the president's office. Meanwhile, missiles hit one of Ukraine's largest cities, Dnipro, said the regional head - causing a fire at an industrial facility and 14 injuries. The prime minister added that the city's Pivdenmash factory - which produces missiles, among other products - had been bombed. Ukraine war: Russia guilty of war crimes in Kherson, says Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says that investigators have uncovered more than 400 war crimes in areas of Kherson abandoned by Russian forces as they retreated. Mr Zelensky said the bodies of civilians and soldiers had been found. CNI has been unable to verify the allegations. Moscow denies its troops intentionally target civilians. Meanwhile Ukrainian authorities imposed an overnight curfew and restricted travel in and out of Kherson. "In the Kherson region, the Russian army left behind the same atrocities as in other regions of our country, where it was able to enter," Mr Zelensky said in his nightly video address. "We will find and bring to justice every murderer. Without a doubt." Since the start of the war, mass graves have been found in areas including Bucha, Izyum and Mariupol. Ukraine has accused Russian troops of being behind the atrocities. A UN commission last month said that war crimes had been committed in Ukraine and that Russian forces were ...

Dallas air show crash: Two World War Two planes collide in mid-air

Two vintage World War Two-era planes have collided and crashed at an air show in the US state of Texas. Footage shows the aircraft striking each other at a low altitude, breaking one of the aircraft in half. A fireball can be seen as it hits the ground. The planes - one of them a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress - were taking part in a commemorative air show near Dallas. It was not immediately clear how many people were in the two aircraft, but two victims have been named. The Allied Pilots Association, which represents American Airlines pilots, said Terry Barker and Len Root - two of its former members - were among people who died in the collision. The Federal Aviation Administration said it will investigate the crash at the Wings Over Dallas Airshow on Saturday, which describes itself as the US's premiere WW2 air show. The three-day event was being held in honour of Veterans Day, which was on Friday, and between 4,000 and 6,000 people were watching the show. Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson...

Iranian who made Paris airport home for 18 years dies

An Iranian man who lived in a Paris airport for 18 years has died. Caught in a diplomatic limbo, Mehran Karimi Nasseri made a small area of Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport his home in 1988. His experience inspired the 2004 film, The Terminal, starring Tom Hanks. Mr Nasseri was eventually given the right to live in France, but he ended up returning to the airport a few weeks ago, where he died of natural causes, an airport official told AFP. Born in 1945 in the Iranian province of Khuzestan, Mr Nasseri first flew to Europe in search of his mother. He spent some years living in Belgium, having been expelled from countries including the UK, the Netherlands and Germany for not having the correct immigration documents. He then went to France, where he made the airport's 2F Terminal his home. Nestled on his bench surrounded by trolleys containing the possessions he had accumulated, he spent his days writing about his life in a notebook and reading books and newspapers. His story attrac...

Ukraine war: Celebration in Kherson - but war 'far from over'

Ukrainian officials have warned "the war is not over" after Russia's withdrawal from Kherson, even as celebrations continue over the weekend. Cheering crowds welcomed Ukrainian troops to the city - the only regional capital taken by Moscow since February - on Friday. Similarly jubilant scenes were reported in other regions across Ukraine, including the capital, Kyiv, and Odesa. But despite the blow to Moscow's ambitions, officials remain cautious. Yuriy Sak, an adviser to the Ukrainian defence minister, warned the BBC it was "too early to relax". "We always believed that we would liberate Kherson," he told Radio 4's Today programme. "And we are confident that now Russians are beginning to believe that they will never be able to win this war. We see the panic in their ranks. We see the panic in their propaganda machine. "But of course, this is a very important moment, but... this war is far from over." Kherson lacks running water...
